Two years after implementation, our ELEVATE program is progressing with its inaugural two graduates this year! ELEVATE is for high school students attending any community school. Our staff offers onsite support, including homework assistance, career exploration, and guidance for post-secondary plans. This program runs alongside our ASPIRE program, which is specifically designed for Banyan scholarship recipients who attend DeLaSalle High School. Congratulations to all the graduates!

Adaliz is heading out of state to Iowa State to explore veterinary studies. She is grateful for the help Banyan has given her as she completed all her college applications. We are sure that her calm and easy-going attitude will serve her well in this new environment.

Alex’s passion for math and innate curiosity drew him towards a career in engineering. This spring, he was presented with several options for post-secondary education. Ultimately, Dunwoody stood out as the ideal choice due to its hands-on learning opportunities.

We are sure that Angel’s outgoing personality will be a great asset in his future nursing career. Angel will be starting classes at MCTC in the fall and is looking forward to their hands-on educational model. We know that he will build great rapport with all his patients.

Angelina is a strong and determined young lady. She is heading to MCTC, to join her sister, to study Business. Her dream job is to open her own salon!

Andrea is looking forward to wearing purple, her favorite color, while she attends the University of St. Thomas! Currently, she is undecided on her area of study but is thankful to know that Banyan is still here to help encourage her in finding her future job. We know that she will be a caring friend to her new classmates.

Chris is excited to transition from the high school education model into some “more hands on stuff.” This is why Chris felt that Hennepin Tech was the best fit for him. He is currently thinking about the fields of cybersecurity or forensics. We have confidence that his patient attitude will allow him space to find the right path.

“I really, really like science. It challenges me.” Marlenne is truly looking forward to honing her studies in Biology at Normandale Community College. She expressed gratitude to Banyan for helping her through her high school studies. She will do great!

Mayra is looking forward to receiving a boss Banyan care package while she attends the University of Minnesota. She is planning to study dental hygiene and is thankful that her school choice is close to home. Her driven and independent spirit is going to take her far.
