As we look to reengage with preschool age programming, Banyan recently became a new location for Drop-in ECFE programming. As a result of changes in the Minneapolis Public School District, the Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) programming that was once offered at a local elementary school is no longer available which left a gap for our youngest neighbors. Banyan is delighted to provide space for this essential programming.
ECFE Drop-in sessions for youth and parents began this spring at Banyan. In addition to story time and free play, the programming includes information on Early Childhood Family Education, School Readiness Resources, and parenting resources. While this is a “pilot” for Banyan, we love the opportunity to have families with the littlest learners back in the building. Banyan is continuing to assess the ways in which we will support families and develop additional early childhood programming in the future.
