This past week, Minnesota celebrated its 16th annual Give to the Max Day. Give to the Max (organized by GiveMN) highlights the work that nonprofits throughout the state do, and the generosity of donors that make that work possible. The platform connects donors with organizations that align with their passions and provides opportunities for donors’ gifts to be matched with prizes. Early giving happens starting November first, with the culminating Give to the Max Day occurring on the third Thursday of November.
This year, more than $37 million dollars were raised across the state. All eighty-seven counties in Minnesota participated, and gifts to Minnesota’s 6,556 nonprofit organizations were received from all fifty states and from thirty-six countries.
Needless to say, this is a reason for celebration: there is much work to do, and there are generous people giving of their time, talents, and resources working together to make Minnesota a better place for all people.
This year Banyan Community took a new approach to Give to the Max creating a HIGH FIVE campaign. This campaign started at $5 price point symbolizing a HIGH FIVE with the belief that if each of us gives what we can then together our gifts can be transformative. It aimed to celebrate the power of community.
We are grateful for all those people who gave to Banyan Community through Give to the Max, and who have given throughout the year. It takes all of us coming together – with whatever we can – to do Banyan’s work of developing youth and nurturing families and this community. Thank you for being a part of this work!
