“For more than 146 years, Family Partnership has successfully partnered with families and individuals to remove barriers and clear the path for success for those who have experienced deep poverty and trauma.”

Recently this essential non-profit relocated on Lake Street closer to the Banyan Community service area. This proximity is beneficial for Banyan and the Family Partnership in establishing our new relationship. Their commitment to building strong families, vital communities, and better futures for children aligns strongly with Banyan Community’s values.

With this new relationship are great opportunities for anyone who participates in Banyan programs. First, Family Partnership is providing an onsite Youth and Family Counselor. Pam Berry provides consistent office hours and presence in order to build a trust-based relationship with youth. Her goal is to support the staff in helping all youth learn and grow socially, emotionally, and educationally. Pam can also provide an individual support meeting at Banyan with a youth.

The Family Partnership counselor will also offer small group discussions on social emotional health for participants within the arc of Banyan’s programs. Social emotional health is an important focus of Banyan’s work. Therefore, Pam may offer a small group discussion group for parents of teens, or for neighbors in the Senior Social Club, or for Banyan Scholars adjusting to post-secondary rhythms.

Banyan Community is making a strategic effort to heal traumas, address systemic stressors, and promote social emotional awareness in conjunction with educational support within our holistic approach. We are grateful for your trust in financial partnership and Family Partnership’s openness to pursue unique and impactful solutions.
