Seedlings is our newest program focused on early childhood and caregiver education designed specifically for the Banyan Community. Seedlings is a vital addition that strengthens Banyan’s commitment to providing lifelong support for families. This Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program is tailored to meet the unique needs of Banyan families and their preschool-age children, aligning seamlessly with our asset-based approach, and serving as a cornerstone in our strategic planning efforts.
Seedlings classes are thoughtfully structured to offer a well-rounded experience. Programming is offered in 6-week sessions twice a week for two hours. The Seedlings program follows a standards-based developmental curriculum scope and sequence, incentivizes attendance and offers emergency resources for families.
“I love facilitating through song and dance!” – Parisa Naini, ECFE Coordinator
Parisa Naini, ECFE Coordinator, is excited to create joint activities for caregivers and youth to do together. Classes will feature family time, separate time for caregiver discussions and independent play time for children, along with providing a light snack. Parisa plans to offer family circle time with song and dance, along with a crafting activity. In the second hour caregivers will be encouraged to join Jacquelyn Thomas, ECFE Parent Educator, for a time of encouragement and equipping.
Banyan Community’s decision to launch Seedlings expands our existing enrichment offerings, embodies our holistic mission, and ensures that Banyan families have access to a trusted neighborhood option for high-quality early learning. Seedlings is more than a program; it is a testament to our dedication to the growth and development of our community.
