Banyan youth are getting ready for an amazing outdoor experience at camp this summer. During the last week of July, elementary youth in grades 3 thru 5 have the opportunity to take part in Camp Streefland – a summer day camp offered through the YMCA. Camp will offer an amazing outdoor experience while staying close to home. Although COVID protocols are keeping youth a little closer to home this year, youth will still have the opportunity to learn new skills and build new relationships through camp programming. And, being a little closer to home has meant that more kids will be able to take part in camp. Twenty-five youth are signed up compared to the 15 who attended our last away camp.
Banyan staff will be attending camp daily along with the campers to ensure the best experience possible. Staff will provide hands on support, coordinate meals, and ensure everyone is accounted for on the daily bus rides to and from camp.
We’re excited about this new camping partner, and we’re even more excited for Banyan youth to explore and enjoy the outdoors at camp!
