Parents and youth joined the evening Seedlings program twice a week for enrichment, dinner, and education. This program was offered in Spanish, aligning with the primary language of the participants.
It was great fun to celebrate at Miss Rose’s Reunion Party. She has been a foundational member of Banyan Community, serving as a Lighthouse Network Block Leader for more than 20 years!
An older generation of neighbors now visits Banyan twice a month for activities, community, and laughter, during the new 55+ Elders Program. Puzzles, sports, speakers and more are provided.
The biggest art project created last year turned out to be 7 feet wide! Youth and staff painted a Banyan memories quilt during Kids Club, which was unveiled at the Banyan Dinner.
A favorite guest to the Banyan After School Program was the University of Minnesota medical students. The middle school youth enjoyed surprising their parents with “broken arms!”
